It was a fantastic summer of opportunities at Off to Work in 2018, and we had an incredible time supporting our clients at the prestigious Open at Carnoustie.

Thanks to our hardworking team of staff, it was one of the best Open’s yet.

We are currently recruiting for the 2025 Open in Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland. Click here to apply.

Off to Work has supported Sodexo Prestige at The Open for a number of years, both in Scotland and England. Every year we work in the exclusive patron's lounges looking after guests from Rolex, Mercedes, Mastercard, HSBC, DTT data, Nikon and Hugo Boss. Last year we also looked after private hospitality lounges such as the Claret Jug Lounge and the R&A Lounges.

We had a total of 120 team members work across the week, including 50 returnees who have worked at previous Open events - for some this was their 5th time!

Several team members stood out from the crowd for their exceptional hard work and positivity across the week.

We asked them to  share their experience working the historic event and their favourite memories! Here is what they had to say...

  •  "I wanted to get involved in The Open 2018 because I had such an incredible time last year! It was something I had never experienced before and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it again in 2018" - Mich

  •  "I joined OtW in 2014 where my first event was the Eastbourne International. This was the same year I worked at my first British Open at Royal Liverpool, which was an amazing experience and has led me to working 3 further British Open events!" - Isaac
  • "I have been golfing since I was a young child and have been to The Open as a patron with my father, so I wanted a new viewpoint on it. This is my first hospitality job and I thoroughly enjoyed it!" - Matthew

  • "Along with the prestige of working in a branded tent, what stood out the most was the people I met along the way; the other team members, the kitchen staff and the guests. At the end of a long day when a guest thanks you for your hospitality, knowing that you perked up someone's day gives you the passion to come back the next day to do it all again!" - Lucy

  • "Working at any of the Patrons’ Lounges is a privilege that offers great views and atmosphere. For me it felt wonderful having guests happy to see me and remember me from the year before!" - Elena

  • "This was my first time working at The Open and now I have lot's of great memories! Everyone was a pleasure to work with, and there was always someone to help you when you needed, even if you’d never met them before." - Aoife

Well done to every team member for their involvement in The Open 2018, and for creating truly memorable experiences for clients and guests alike.
